From a Mutt to a gaushala, the chants of Shri Ram grow strong | Goa News – Times of India

MARGO: Dream Ram, think Ram, pray Ram, talk Ram, said Shrimad Vidyadheesh Teerth Swami of the Partagal Mutt, as a mark of obeisance to Shri Ram Lalla on his idol consecration ceremony on Monday.
The Partagal swami is currently travelling across Karnataka, but the religious fervour associated with the event prevailed at the Mutt.
At the Rivona Mutt branch of Shree Gokarn Partagal Jeevottam Mutt, devotees thronged the Shri Hanuman temple housed within the Mutt premises to participate in various rituals. A wave of Ram bhakti enveloped the place as the rhythmic chants of Shri Ram Tarak mantra jap, Shri Ram Raksha stotra and Shri Ram Dev Ashtak Pathan reverberated.
Stating that the numeralsof the date carried a message of spiritual significance, Vidyadheesh Teerth Swami said, “Considering the numerals in 22/01, let each family light 22 lamps on this day. As for the numerals in 2024, I would suggest that everybody undertake the Shri Ram Nam Jap 2,024 times.”
The swami also advised the Mutt followers to abstain from having meals at restaurants on this day and to have lunch at homeafter offering naivadya to Shri Ram.
“Let this day be devoted exclusively in the name of Prabhu Shri Ram. Ek Din Ram ke Naam,” he said.
“This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, let’s make the most of it,” the swami said. “Many people sacrificed their lives for the cause of the Ram temple over the years, but they weren’t able to witness the Pran Pratishthan. We are blessed to have this in our lifetime.”
Not far from the Rivona Mutt, at a gaushala of the Dhyan Foundation at Zambaulim, the consecration ceremony was celebrated in a rather distinctive manner. The Rajasthani community organised Shri Ram puja at the gaushala and galvanised funds from traders and businessmen to arrange fodder for the nearly 1,400 stray cattle housed in the shelters at Zambaulim, Shirvoi and Betul.
“Contributions in cash and kind poured in from traders in just two days,” said Lokesh Bharati, who was among those who led the initiative. We are Ram bhakts, but the gaumata has a special place in our hearts. The gaushala here is doing a wonderful job in saving the lives of cattle in distress. I am sure Ram Lalla will be pleased by our gauseva.”
