140 Riico Retirees Still Await Pension Orders Under Ops | Jaipur News – Times of India

Jaipur: After the state government announced to include employees of its corporations under Old Pension Scheme (OPS), over 531 retired employees of RIICO deposited lakhs of rupees to be eligible for monthly pension. But 140 of them are still waiting to get their pension as RIICO officials are not issuing pension payment orders.
While the employees are eligible to get pension from April 2023, none of them have got payments for all the months.
According to a letter submitted to RIICO chairman by the RIICO Retried Employee Welfare Association (RREWA), 30 have got pension for four months, 127 for three months, 150 for two months and 60 for one month.
In an earlier letter to the chief minister, RREWA drew attention to the plight of the dependents and widows of deceased retired employees who had borrowed and used all their saving to deposit the money for getting pension, but they are too waiting for payment orders.
“The widows and dependents who should have been given highest priority, have been treated in the most neglectful and insensitive manner by the corporation administration. No officer listens to their complaints, which is very serious and a matter of concern,” said RREW in the letter to the CM.
Besides, when the previous government announced the scheme, it said that the retired employees have to deposit the money with 12% interest and later reduced it to 3%. By that time most of the employees had deposited arrears with12% interest. But even after the decision to reduce the interest to 3%, the excess money has not been returned.
The association said that they have been continuously appealing to RIICO MD Sudhir Kumar Sharma, executive director Arun Garg and financial advisor Manish Shukla, but no one is able to understand their pain.
