VIRUDHUNAGAR: An elderly man riding on a bicycle was fatally knocked down by a speeding car in Srivilliputhur in Virudhunagar district on Wednesday.
The deceased man has been identified as Ganapathy Aasari,70, of Keelapatti Pillayarkoil Street in Srivilliputhur.
The accident happened on the Srivilliputhur-Sivakasi Road. Ganapathy died on the spot.
Srivilliputhur Town police registered a case and were on the lookout for the car driver.
