JAIPUR: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Thursday detained suspects in a crackdown against a nexus of gangsters linked with listed dreaded gangsters Bambiha gang in Suratgarh, Rajasthan. The (NIA) team conducted raids at two locations in Suratgarh on Thursday, based on the interrogation of an individual associated with the Bambiha gang.
According to the sources, two NIA teams arrived in Suratgarh on Wednesday night.
A senior police official source in the state said, these raids were focused on dismantling the gangster’s nexus on weapon suppliers, financiers and logistics providers associated with the hardcore gang and their operatives.
The initial destination for the NIA team was MKK Colony in Suratgarh, where they conducted a thorough search of a residence. Subsequently, the team proceeded to the Housing Board Colony, continuing their search.
As per police sources, a few days prior, the NIA had carried out a raid in the Padampur area, resulting in the arrest, Rajeev alias Seela, a resident of village 8EEA in the Padampur police station area. On Wednesday night, two NIA teams transported Rajeev alias Seela from Delhi to Suratgarh.
“The suspect spent the night at the city police station, received medical attention in the morning, and underwent interrogation. Following the questioning, the teams departed from the city police station at 12 noon on the same day,” said a police official.
