According to Sacnilk.com, the movie saw an impressive 52% growth in occupancy for evening shows in theatres and saw an added 45.40% growth for night shows on the Republic Day holiday.The growth in numbers helped boost collections past the Rs 60 crore mark. The film now has an estimated total exceeding Rs 61 crore, according to early estimates.
Contrary to trade reports suggesting an opening day collection of Rs 22.5 crore, the makers clarified in a press note, “Released on the eve of Republic Day, the film collected Rs 24.60 crore on day one, Thursday.” The strategic release on Thursday, January 25, set the stage for an extended holiday weekend.
Directed by Siddharth Anand, known for “Pathaan” and “War,” “Fighter” pays tribute to the valour, sacrifice, and patriotism of the Indian armed forces. The star-studded cast, including Anil Kapoor and Karan Singh Grover, portrays the narrative of Air Dragons, an elite unit commissioned by the Air Headquarters in response to militant activities in the Srinagar Valley.
The official synopsis emphasizes the film’s focus on the Air Dragons as the first responders to hostile activities, comprising the best combat aviators from across the IAF. “Fighter” unfolds the gripping tale of these dedicated individuals, navigating the highs and lows of internal and external battles in their unwavering commitment to the nation.
