NOIDA: A 35-year-old man died while another was injured as a Brezza ploughed into two bikes and then hit an autorickshaw parked along the roadside near the 39th Battalion ITBP camp in Lakhnawali in Greater Noida on Friday night.
The driver of the Brezza, Bhola Fauji, was caught by passersby and handed over to cops. The vehicle was later impounded.
“A few vehicles, including the bikes and the autorickshaw, had stopped near gate number 2 of the ITBP camp to purchase peanuts from a pushcart around 10 pm on Friday when a car, which was being driven at high speed, rammed into them,” a senior police officer said.
Two persons who were injured in the incident were taken to a local hospital where Jitendra Singh, a resident of Lakhnawali, was declared dead on arrival. Upendra Singh, a resident of Gulavathi village in Jarcha, sustained grievous injuries in the incident.
The accused was booked on charges of death due to negligence and rash driving.
