20 Rounds Fired As Member Of Bishnoi Gang Gunned Down | Delhi News – Times of India

New Delhi: A key member of the Lawrence Bishnoi-Kapil Sangwan syndicate was gunned down by unidentified assailants on Tuesday evening. This was the second blow to the Bishnoi group in two days.
The slain gangster was identified as Surajbhan alias Ballu, a resident of Najafgarh. Faridabad’s police are officially investigating the killing as the incident happened in its jurisdiction. The murder took place in Sector 11. The assailants fired at least 20 rounds on the target, killing him at the spot.
According to police, Surajbhan used to come to a gym in the area. Two bike-borne assailants trailed him for several kilometres before intercepting him and opening indiscriminate fire from behind. As people panicked and ran for cover after hearing gunshots, the shooters fled the spot after opening fire in the air. Soon, top cops of the city landed at the scene along with investigators from the local crime branch.
While the cops said it was too early to comment, the initial suspicion has fallen on jailed gangster Manjeet Mahal and his associates who are rivals of Bishnoi.
Surajbhan had first shot to limelight after he came under the scanner in the case of murder of gangster Mahal’s father in Mitraon village of Najafgarh in 2017. Around that time, Mahal had made an attempt on Surajbhan’s life but he had narrowly escaped the shooting.
However, Surajbhan’s close friend, Sunil aka doctor, was killed in the melee. Surajbhan and Sangwan had hit back soon and killed the father of Mahal’s associate, Mantri. The rivalry had consumed around a dozen lives in those years. A few years ago, Sangwan shifted base to the UK, leaving the extortion and land- grabbing business to Surajbhan and making him the top target of the Mahal gang.
A member of Mahal’s gang, however, claimed that they had nothing to do with the killing and that this was the result of an infighting between Sangwan and Surajbhan who had been having some monetary disputes of late.
Cops said they were probing all angles and would be able to gather some leads in the next 24 hours. Mahal is currently lodged in Tihar Jail and will be questioned by sleuths on Wednesday, sources said.
On Monday, Bishnoi’s close aide, Rajan Jaat, was bumped off in Yamunanagar allegedly by shooters engaged by his Canada-based rival, Arsh Dalla, a designated terrorist, and Lucky Patial, kingpin of the Bambiha syndicate. Earlier, Bishnoi’s finance and logistic head Sachin Wadhwa was killed in Kurukshetra by the same set of rivals.
Bishnoi is currently lodged in a jail in Gujarat. In Delhi, he had forged two major alliances as part of his turf expansion plans. The first was with the erstwhile Jitender Gogi group, which is now headed by Deepak Boxer. The other was with Kapil Sangwan.
