Bba Student And Housewife Arrested For Peddling Ganja | Hyderabad News – Times of India

HYDERABAD: Cyberabad Special Operation Team sleuths of Balanagar zone caught a BBA student from Karnataka for being in possession of 11.6 kg ganja at Balanagar. He was travelling to Karnataka from Andhra Pradesh via Hyderabad. Police found that he never travelled in any public transport, but hitchiked rides on long-distance trucks.
In another case, SOT sleuths raided a residence of a couple at Moosapet and seized 1.3 kg ganja.The woman was nabbed, while her husband was absconding.
According to SOT personnel, Manjunath, hailing from Hubli district of Karnataka, was pursuing BBA final year at Dharwad. Two days ago, he travelled to Visakhapatnam Agency Area, procured ganja from a supplier, Sagar, and started his return journey.
On Wednesday morning, he arrived in the city. When he was at Balanagar waiting for a ride, SOT sleuths picked him on suspicion and on searching seized 11.6 kg ganja in his backpack.
Inquiries revealed that from Dharwad to Visakhapatnam and from there till Hyderabad, he only travelled using rides. He took up peddling ganja for making easy money and was supplying it to users in Dharwad and surrounding areas, he told police.
Meanwhile, SOT sleuths raided a house at Moosapet, where they found ganja weighing 1.3 kg packed neatly in small sachets. D Venkatesh, an auto driver, and his wife Shobha were planning to sell the contraband to addicts at nearby labour addas.
Police found that Venkatesh procured the drugs from AP on Sunday and left for a pilgrimage on Monday, telling his wife to hand over the drug to the users only on his instructions.
