Iaf’s Vayushakti-2024 To Be Held On Feb 17 | Jaipur News – Times of India

JAISALMER: In the biggest combat exercise of the Indian Air Force (IAF), Vayushakti-2024, which will be held on Feb 17 at Pokhran Firing Range, 121 types aircrafts will participate. Many eminent personalities are likely to attend this grand display of the fire capabilities of the Indian Air Force.
Announcing the exercise, IAF vice-chief air marshal AP Singh said, “Fighter jets like Tejas, Sukhoi, Mirage, Jaguar of the Indian Air Force will participate.Apart from this, Rafale, Prachanda, Dhruv and Rudra attack helicopters will also be included.”
An official said, “As always, Vayu Shakti will be a riveting demonstration of the offensive and defensive capabilities of the IAF, spanning across day and night. The exercise will also showcase joint operations with the Indian Army.”
Exercise Vayu Shakti will be a demonstration of the IAF’s capability to deliver weapons with long range, precision capability as well as conventional weapons accurately, on time and with devastating effect, while operating from multiple air bases. Special operations by the IAF transport and helicopter fleets, involving the Garuds and Indian Army elements will also be on display.
Singh added, “In this exercise held every three years, 77 fighter jets, 41 helicopters, 5 transport aircraft, three types of surface-to-air missiles, 12 UAVs, air-to-ground missiles, etc. Precision and non-precision missiles, air-to-air guided missiles and surface-to-air guided missiles will also be displayed.” The full dress rehearsal for the exercise will be held on Feb 14.
