HOWRAH: A fire broke out at a incense stick factory in a densely populated area in Amta, Howrah around 9.30am on Saturday. Seven fire engines were rushed to the spot though the factory was completely gutted.
In another incident, a fire broke out inside a styrofoam factory in Domjur, also in Howrah, around 10am. The factory shed and a wall collapsed as the flames raged on. Five fire engines took six hours to douse the blaze. There was no report ofcasualty. The cause for either fire was yet to be ascertained.
At the toll plaza of the second Hooghly bridge, a car burst into flames while on move. Two persons inside the car managed to jump out in time.
