Deputy district education officer Jaswinder Singh Virk said: “As many as 40,467 students have registered for Class X examinations, of which 38,633 are regular students while 1,834 students are enrolled in the open board. Meanwhile, of 37,690 Class XII registered students, 35,191 are regular and 2,499 are registered under open board. In Class VIII, 42,716 students have been registered.”
According to the PSEB exam schedule 2024, the Punjab Board Class X exams will be held from Feb 13 to March 6. Concurrently, the Class XII exams are scheduled from Feb 13 to March 30. Students of Class VIII will take exam from March 7 to March 27.
As per the date sheet for classes X and XII, the examinations will take place in a single shift, from 11am to 2.15pm — for three hours. In addition, students will be provided an additional 15-minute period to review the question paper and plan their exam strategy.
Virk said, “The board has emphasised the importance of maintaining discipline and instructed all the superintendents to ensure that no student wears shoes or socks inside the examination hall.”
The official added: “Female invigilators are mandated to conduct searches if required. The board has explicitly mentioned that any student found violating the rules would face strict action.”
