Arvind Kejriwal: No mention of FIR in Crime Branch notice | Delhi News – Times of India

New Delhi: Chief minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday said the notice of Delhi Police’s Crime Branch to him over his allegations that BJP had attempted to “poach” AAP legislators didn’t mention any FIR and asserted that the country won’t progress by such “theatrics”.
Talking to reporters on the sidelines of an event, Kejriwal said those who toppled govts in different states had tried to poach AAP MLAs in Delhi too. “There is only one party that is buying everyone: Those who toppled govts in Goa and Karnataka, and poached the NCP-Shiv Sena alliance in Maharashtra, tried to destabilise Congress govt in Rajasthan, also contacted our MLAs,” he claimed.
On how he was going to respond to Saturday’s notice, Kejriwal said “we will see to it”.
The chief minister said the Delhi Police officers were forced to indulge in “theatrics” by their “political bosses”. “I pity those officers. Young officers join police with a lot of idealism that they will protect women and reduce crime. They never think that they will be made to indulge in theatrics. Is that why they joined police? The officers must have been feeling bad. This insult was caused by their political bosses.”
The Crime Branch had also visited Delhi minister Atishi’s residence and served her a notice on Sunday. On the Enforcement Directorate (ED) approaching the court after he skipped five summonses in an excise policy case, Kejriwal alleged it was a BJP conspiracy to overthrow the AAP govt in Delhi by putting him under arrest. “No problem, we will give our answer,” he said.
Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva challenged Kejriwal to either make the recording of the calls received by his MLAs public or apologise. “Kejriwal misleads the public by lying. Every day they say they have the recordings of AAP MLAs being poached, but never make them public,” Sachdeva alleged.
