Sp Leader Imran Idris Joins Au Protesters | Allahabad News – Times of India

Prayagraj: The ongoing protest by students of Allahabad University continued on Tuesday, with national president of Samajwadi Chhatra Sabha Imran Idris joining the protestors and extending his support.
The protestors sat on dharna outside the main gate of AU (Central library gate) which remained closed the entire day. All administrative officials of AU, faculty and members of departments on the Arts campus, non-teaching staff and students could enter the campus only through KPUC and Union hall gates.
Traffic on Motilal Nehru road was limited as there was heavy police force and a large number of students squatting on the road.
Idrisi, while addressing the students at the dharna site, said dictatorship was at its peak in the Allahabad University and that members of proctorial board had ruined the mutual regard between teacher and the taught and what had had allegedly happened was shameful. He added that until punitive action was taken against those involved in the alleged harassment of a student, the protest will continue.
Classes in all departments of the Arts campus were conducted as per schedule, although attendance was weak. Presence of students in the Central library was as usual.
