Nagpur: The trial court on Wednesday rejected an application seeking exemption from personal appearance put up by Sanjay Agrawal, the alleged kingpin of the government securities scam (g-secs) in Nagpur District Central Cooperative Bank (NDCCB). He will have to appear before the court on February 15.
Agrawal headed the broking company Home Trade Limited to which the bank’s funds meant for being invested in g-secs were transferred but not returned.
The securities too were allegedly not purchased.
Agrawal had appeared before the court on February 1 after a non bailable warrant (NBW) was issued against him as he failed to appear on the preceding date.
Agrawal had asked if he could get an exemption from personal attendance, and for this an application was put up through a lawyer.
