Patna: East Central Railway (ECR) general manager (GM) Anil Kumar Khandelwal inspected Shahpur Patori and Baruni stations under Sonepur division on Wednesday. He directed the officials to carry on cleanliness work round the clock and ensure availability of amenities to passengers.
At Shahpur Patori, Khandelwal inspected the signalling system, catering services, cleanliness on platforms and foot overbridges as well as passenger safety measures in trains, besides the ongoing station redevelopment work under Amrit Bharat Station scheme, ECR chief public relations officer (CPRO) Birendra Kumar said.
At Barauni station, the GM inspected passenger amenities and the ongoing work of an unreserved ticketing system counter. He asked the officials to make the existing counters more passenger-friendly by extending their sheds, the CPRO said, adding the GM also inspected a newly procured ultrasonic machine at Barauni maintenance yard.
Later he held a high level meeting with the GM of Indian Oil Corporation Refinery at Barauni and assured him of availability of oil tankers for transportation of fuel. The GM also visited Rajendra Pul site at Hathida (Mokama).
