Gurgaon: Hundreds of applicants for Group C posts, advertised by the Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC), are agitated over the “faulty and wrongful” final results.
The HSSC declared the results of the recruitment exams conducted to fill various Group C posts, including assistant linemen, multi-purpose health workers, staff nurses and others, on Tuesday.
Starting then, many applicants have been reaching the HSSC office alleging that their names did not appear on the final cut-off list even though their scores were above the minimum cut-off mark for selection. They alleged that many applicants, named in the final list, had scored less than them.
“We had filled out the online form floated by the commission and submitted all the documents they had sought. But when we spoke to the HSSC officials, they said they haven’t received the other documents required to be submitted before the declaration of the final results,” said Rahul, a candidate who has been sitting outside the HSSC office for the third day in a row, on Thursday.
The candidates have demanded that the HSSC should revise the results and republish it. “We want the commission to check all the documents manually because HSSC’s website faces glitches everyday. The commission needs to check the test papers manually too,” said Lakshmi, another candidate.
The applicants complained that the state govt had failed to complete the recruitment process on time. “The state completed the recruitment process in a hurry as general elections are around the corner. This can be a tactic to cover up their previous mistakes. But this kind of attitude from govt’s end is jeopardising the future of youths. We will go to court in case the department fails to rectify the results soon,” she added.
The HSSC had issued an advertisement for the recruitment of various posts. The department conducted exams for the same in 2022 and 2023, and the final result was declared on Tuesday.
