Model Gram Resident in Dock Over Plaint by SDM Ludhiana | Ludhiana News – Times of India

Ludhiana: A resident of Model Gram has been booked for cheating and forgery on the complaint of sub-divisional magistrate (West) Harjinder Singh Bedi. The accused had allegedly forged a property document and sold it for Rs 60 lakh with the help of some unidentified employee(s) of the revenue office. Salem Tabri police have booked Harpreet Singh along with the unidentified employee(s), who helped him and tampered with the record.
Bedi said the property was located in Bhora village and owned by one Jain hosiery. However, Harpreet managed to tamper with the revenue records and got the property transferred to his name. He then sold the property in 2005 to a person named Naveen Kumar for Rs 60 lakh, the SDM added.
Salem Tabri SHO Harjit Singh said it was being probed if any employee of the revenue department helped Harpreet in forging the documents. “We are conducting raids to nab the accused, who has been booked under sections 420 (cheating), 465 (forgery), 467 (forgery of valuable, security, will), 468 (forgery for purpose of cheating), 471 (using as genuine a forged document), 447 (criminal trespass), and 120- B (criminal conspiracy) of the IPC.
