Nagpur: The regional met department has predicted light rains on Saturday followed by thunderstorm and lightning at isolated places on Sunday. Nagpur, Wardha, Gondia, Bhandara, Amravati, and Washim are likely to be hit by rains on the weekend as per the forecast.
There is a forecast for scattered rainfall at isolated places from Saturday till February 14.Earlier, mild rains were forecast in the region on Friday too, but it has been revised to clear sky.
Even as the winter is yet to end, the minimum temperature has shot up by 2.7degrees Celsius to 17.6 while the maximum temperature too has been fluctuating over the last couple of days.
The maximum temperature went below 30 degrees Celsius on Thursday. The northerlies or the northern winds brought cold air in the morning hours to the region while western disturbances kept the night warmer.
The night temperature went up because of cloudy weather. The minimum and maximum temperatures are going to remain the same for the next one week, the met department said.
This season, a relatively higher minimum temperature has denied the actual winter chill, though on many days a lower maximum temperature turned the weather cooler.
