Guwahati: Manipur cabinet on Friday approved the appointment of the son of sub-divisional police officer Chingtham Anand Singh who was shot dead in the line of duty at Moreh in Tengnoupal district on October 31 last year, as an assistant sub-inspector in Manipur Police.
CM Biren Singh wrote on X, “The cabinet also approved increase of the allowance for our brave Manipur Police Commando and other state forces in vulnerable areas.Effective immediately, the allowance for Manipur Police Commando will be increased by Rs 5000, while the state forces in vulnerable areas will receive an increment of Rs 3000.”
The cabinet also decided to bring under the scheme the personnel serving in Central Armed Police Forces, the Army and Air Force who are not residents of Manipur for providing ex gratia and financial assistance.
The cabinet further approved the commencement of the fifth session of the 12th Manipur assembly from February 28. The last assembly session was held in August last year.
