Patna: Traffic deputy superintendent of police (DSP) II Anil Kumar on Saturday instructed the Bankipur bus terminal operators to run their vehicles from near the district magistrate’s residence instead of their traditional stand near Kargil Chowk.
He said no bus will be able to go from Children Park to Bankipur bus stand from 9.30am to 7pm. “After 5pm, the buses will be allowed to enter the depot at an interval of 15 minutes only to get fuel and deposit money. A list of these buses has been sought from the terminal manager. This is an attempt to reduce the traffic jam at Gandhi Maidan and Buddh Marg. Earlier, we followed the change of traffic plan on a trial basis but now, it will be implemented from Monday and monitored by the traffic personnel.”
Also the operators were instructed not to ply buses from Kotwali T-point to GPO roundabout via Buddh Marg. These buses will now go to R-Block via Income Tax roundabout.
The DSP also inspected the road near Mithapur ROB — where Patna metro work is going on. “The metro officials have been asked to remove barricades at both the turning points and repair potholes,” Kumar said.
