Bengaluru: The BBMP has requested the state govt to provide financial assistance of Rs 8,050 crore to implement infrastructure projects and various schemes in the upcoming budget.
According to BBMP officials, they need nearly Rs 3,000 crore for the payment of outstanding bills to contractors and ongoing works. Palike sources had told TOI that the BBMP dues to contractors total Rs 2,700 crore.
A sum of Rs 200 crore will be needed for the maintenance of Indira Canteens, Rs 600 crore for solid waste management, and Rs 200 crore for the development of storm-water drains.The remaining funds will be used for the implementation of new projects.

BBMP officials said this time, the govt is keen to start the city’s first tunnel road project and sky deck project.
