Gurgaon: The city witnessed shallow fog and mist during the early hours of Monday and the sky was quite by around 8.30am. The city is likely to receive light showers on Feb 14. The minimum temperature dropped to 7.7 degrees Celsius on Monday from 8.3 degrees Celsius recorded on Sunday.
According to the forecast by India Meteorological Department (IMD), the city will continue to witness shallow fog and mist in the morning for next seven days.
The maximum temperature was recorded at 23.2 degrees Celsius— two notches up from normal for this time of the year. Relative humidity was recorded at 57%.
The minimum and maximum temperatures will likely to hover around 10 degrees Celsius and 23 degrees Celsius respectively during the week. “Weather conditions have been dry in the state. There is no alert to look out for in the next few days. Both minimum and maximum temperatures will increase in the coming days,” an IMD official said.
According to the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting and Research (SAFAR),the predominant surface wind — coming from the north to Delhi-NCR — is likely to be calm during the morning hours. The wind speed will be 4-6kmph and there will be cloudy sky and shallow fog on Tuesday morning. The air quality index, meanwhile, improved to the poor category (295) on Monday from very poor (324) on Sunday.
