Infiltration of Maoists in farm stir can escalate capital crisis | Nagpur News – Times of India

Nagpur: Based on seized documents and intercepted communications, the Maharashtra Anti-Naxal Operation (ANO) cell has indicated the Maoist underground urban network had fuelled the farmers’ stir in Delhi and may trigger bigger protests in the national capital.
Inspector general of police, Maharashtra ANO, Sandip Patil said, there is enough evidence in seized documents that the Maoist politburo triggered farm agitations and anti-CAA protests.“Documents and communication intercepts indicate they were not only behind the farm agitations, but also the nationwide truckers’ stir,” said Patil, adding intercepts point to a bigger agitation in the run-up to Lok Sabha elections.
Deputy CM and state home minister Devendra Fadnavis told TOI on Tuesday the state govt is trying to table the Public Security Act before polls. Modelled around the Uttar Pradesh law, it will enable police to effectively deal with unrest triggered by underground organisations, particularly urban guerrillas.
