Kanpur: UP boys won the gold medal for the second consecutive year in the 73rd Junior Basketball championship held in Bhubaneswar from February 4 to February 11. UP boys in the final outplayed Rajasthan by 106-67. Earlier, they had drubbed Chandigarh in the semifinals and Andhra Pradesh in the quarter-final. Kushal Singh of UP team was adjudged as the most valuable player.He had earlier also represented the country. According to Virendra Vikram Singh, honorary general secretary of UP Basketball Association, UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath in his tweet on X congratulated the UP Junior Basketball team and said, “Your talent, dedication and teamwork are truly inspiring .Wishing you continued excellence and the power to inspire future generation”. tnn
