In a special Valentine’s Day treat for fans, director Todd Phillips took to Instagram to share romantic still of Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga from the upcoming film ‘Joker: Folie à Deux’.
The new stills from the upcoming movie, see Phoenix as Arthur Fleck, aka the Joker, seemingly reaching out for a kiss from Gaga’s Harley Quinn in what appears to be Arkham Asylum.
Another image sees the two characters in their Joke and Harley costume and make-up, ready to raise chaos in Gotham. The third photo gives fans a tease of what may just be a ‘musical’ aspect of the upcoming film. It sees the duo dressed to the nines, waltzing on a rooftop.
Sharing the stills, the director sent out his greetings to fans saying, “Hoping your day is full of love.”

The film, which serves as a direct sequel to 2019’s billion-dollar blockbuster ‘Joker’, picks up the narrative after Arthur’s arrest and imprisonment for his previous crimes. While specific plot details remain under wraps, the film is expected to explore the complex relationship between Joker and Harley Quinn, a storyline deeply ingrained in Batman lore.
‘Joker: Folie a Deux’ is scheduled for release in theatres on October 4, 2024.
