Ludhiana: The Rural Olympics, better known as Kila Raipur Games, concluded on a high note on Wednesday.
The three-day cultural and sporting event, which had commenced at Sports Stadium Patti Suhavia, Kila Raipur, on Monday, witnessed finals of kabaddi, hockey, cycling and various races on the concluding day.
Besides, a group of school students from Patiala performed a special taekwondo show.A musical performance by Punjabi singer Amrit Maan enthralled the audience during the concluding ceremony.
Participants showcased their strength by pulling vehicles with their teeth. Drawing the biggest applause was a race organised for senior citizens which witnessed partiicpation of veteran athletes.
Tourism and cultural affairs minister Anmol Gagan Maan said the government had released Rs 1 crore for holding the world famous games this year and more grants would be given to take these games to new levels.
Mann lauded the district administration for the success of the event and said the games would go a long way in transforming the destiny of youth from rural areas. She also visited stalls set up by self-help groups in the culture and heritage exhibition.
