Peacock Feather Smuggling Racket Busted: Tails Worth 2 Crore Seized | Mumbai News – Times of India

Mumbai: The Directorate Revenue intelligence (DRI) has busted a peacock feather smuggling racket and seized 28 lakh peacock tails and 16,000 feathers worth Rs 2 crore. They were being smuggled out of the country from Nhava Sheva Port on Tuesday. The exporter has been detained under various sections of Customs Act and Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972. The exporter admitted his involvement in the illicit export and has been arrested and remanded to judicial custody. S Ahmed Ali
