Sambalpur: A STF team along with forest officials of Bamara forest division seized two leopard skins and arrested a wildlife smuggler on Thursday. According to reports, after getting information from a reliable source, the team searched vehicles on Kuchinda-Bonaigarh Road near Thianala early on Thursday morning and apprehend the wildlife criminal.
The accused was identified as Sankirtan Munda, 45, of Pahadamara under Laimura police limits in Deogarh district.The accused could not produce any authority in support of possession of the leopard skin, resulting in his apprehension. Later, he was produced in the court of SDJM, Kuchinda.
“Investigation has been launched to identify his associates in trade of wildlife articles and find out if they are involved in other willife crimes,” DSP (STF) S N Rath. tnn

Police encounter in Mahoba: Two accused arrested
Two accused involved in the robbery and murder of a businessman in Mahoba district were arrested after a police encounter. Recovered: 1.4 kg gold, 20 kg silver, Rs 25 lakh cash. Three other accused were also apprehended. The case was worked out through surveillance.
