29 Bovines Rescued from Cattle Smugglers in Nagpur | Nagpur News – Times of India

Nagpur: Some 29 bovines were rescued from three vehicles of cattle smugglers intercepted at Kamsari Bazaar, within the limits of Old Kamptee police station on Friday by the special squad of the Zonal DCP Niketan Kadam in a dawn raid.
Despite repeated actions, the interstate cattle smugglers had been active in and around Nagpur, where illegal slaughterhouses are operating right under the nose of the cops.The Kamptee and the New Kamptee areas are among the illegal hubs for cattle smugglers.
Cattle smugglers also use Nagpur as transit while heading towards Hyderabad and other parts of Telangana, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh. The cattle smugglers generally take the Samruddhi Mahamarg to head towards Arni in Yavatmal and other adjoining places.
Kadam’s squad nabbed two racketeers, identified as Abdul Shaheed and Zaheer Khan, while another, Faizan, managed to flee. The cops have seized the three vehicles while registering an offence at the Old Kamptee police station. tnn
