The curtain rises on February 18 with a vibrant Shiv Dindi procession, accompanied by the beats of dhol tasha. Singer Sudesh Bhosale will be the star attraction of the day. He will present his musical nite in the second half on Day 1.
Collector Saurabh Katiyar said the festival would turn the spotlight on local talent. Powada performances by local singers dedicated to Shivaji Maharaj will be held on February 19. In the evening, Hrushikesh Ranade and his group will present ‘Garja Maharashtra Majha’, musical tribute to Maratha empire.
February 20 will feature Dandar performances by local artists, followed by Aniruddha Joshi’s ‘Maharashtrachi Lokdhara’.
February 21 will see tribal traditions with enthralling Melghat and Korku dances. In the evening, singer Bela Shende and her group will present Hindi and Marathi songs.
The festival will culminate on February 22 with a magnum opus ‘Samvidhan’ shedding light on the life and legacy of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar.
A food festival will continue on the sidelines daily from 2pm to 10pm.

The state government plans to hold a special session of the assembly after Feb 18th to enact legislation on the Maratha quota. The session will table a bill for a quota for Marathas in government jobs and education.
