CHENNAI: Chennai city police gave an advisory on Saturday not to panic and stay away from spreading rumours and fake videos on social media that some group of people were attempting to kidnap children.
The cops have claimed that the people can contact the Chennai city police at 100 or 112 if they happen to come across such videos or messages through any of the social media platforms.The public can also reach out to the local police station round the clock for any assistance.
In an official release, they claimed that some people had been intentionally spreading this message to affect the tranquillity of the public and disturb the social fabric.
The release stated that they caution the rumourmongers to desist from spreading these fake videos or messages and warned of stern legal action against them.
