Vials collected at party linked to YouTuber had snake venom: Report | Noida News – Times of India

Noida: Forensic analysis confirmed that the liquid substance collected from a party held in the city in Nov last year was snake venom, officials revealed on Friday.
On Nov 2, 2023, YouTuber Elvish Yadav was charged, along with five others, under the Wildlife (Protection) Act and IPC Section 120A for criminal conspiracy. Yadav was accused of supplying snake venom for a gathering held in Sector 51.
A combined team from Noida police and the GB Nagar forest department had seized nine snakes, including five cobras, along with the alleged snake venom during a search of a banquet hall in Sector 51, resulting in the arrest of Yadav’s five associates.
Officials initiated the search after a complaint was filed in the matter by Gaurav Gupta and Saurabh Gupta of the People for Animals (PFA). Although Yadav was not present at the party, he was allegedly involved in providing the venom and was interrogated on Nov 8 by the Noida police.
According to a high-ranking investigator who wished to remain anonymous, the suspected venom samples were dispatched to a laboratory in Jaipur for examination. The investigating officer received the lab report on Thursday, which confirmed the samples contained cobra and krait snake venom. The investigation is still ongoing, the officer added.
Around 20ml of snake venom and nine snakes — including five cobras, one python, two sand snakes with two heads, and one rat snake — were discovered at the party site, officials said.
PFA representatives claimed in their report that they had approached Yadav posing as rave party organisers, requesting snake venom for an event at a Sector 51 banquet hall. They alleged that Yadav referred them to a man named Rahul, who, along with four snake charmers, met the PFA team outside the hall.
