Canada’s High Commission Organizes Fitness Event Ahead of Women’s Day | Delhi News – Times of India

Ahead of International Women’s Day, the High Commission of Canada took part in a Women’s Run held in Gurugram. The theme of the run was ‘Inspire Inclusion’ and included actvities like runs of 10km, 5km, and 3km, a 5km walk, a Zumba warm-up session, and a quiz, aiming to raise awareness about inclusive spaces, gender equality, and women’s empowerment and more
Stewart Wheeler, Deputy High Commissioner of Canada to India, flagged off each run and shared remarks emphasising the significance of the event’s theme and why it’s important to practise it. He expressed that ‘Inspire Inclusion’ goes beyond being just a theme; it is a commitment to accepting every individual, irrespective of gender, race, or background. It involves demonstrating compassion, empathy, and having the courage to treat everyone with respect, dignity and equality. Canada and India both take pride in their diverse and inclusive societies, sharing common values of gender equality, and are dedicated to promoting equality for all.
The event brought together around 700 participants from various backgrounds, including civil society organisations, educational institutions, corporations, community leaders, and the general public.
