Mumbai: SNDT Women’s University saw its enrolment going up by over 20% in 2023-24, with the number rising to 68, 568 as against the previous year’s 56,416, said the vice-chancellor Ujwala Chakradeo, during their annual convocation event held on Saturday. Graduation degrees were awarded to almost 14,000 students at the event. Chakradeo was highlighting the university’s achievements during the event.
Governor of Maharashtra, also the chancellor of the university, Ramesh Bais, in his address at the event, recommended starting programmes for tribal women, women in prisons and the ones who are unable to complete their education, while stressing on the need to improve the percentage of women in higher education institutions.TNN
