Nagpur: Dhampur Sugar Mills will play Formidables while Team Vedic is poised to play against Mavericks in the semi-finals of Tolani Open Nationals Masters Bridge Championship on Monday.
Earlier in the day, eight teams moved to the quarterfinals of the Tolani National Masters while 16 moved to pre-quarterfinals in the Tolani Masters.
In the National Masters Swiss League, Dhampur Sugar Mills (Ashok Goel, Vinay Desai, Swarnendu Banerjee, Ajay Khare and Raju Tolani) finished first with a total of 94.72 victory points.In second place were Texan Aces (G Venkatesh, Anil Padhye, P Sridhar, S Sunderam, Arvind Srinivasan and D Vijay) with 88.39 victory points. The 8th place team, Ruia Blazers, secured a score of 86.81 which was significantly below expectations.
Mavericks Prodigies once again finished ahead of the Mavericks in the Swiss League. Dhampur Sugar Mills and Formidables won their respective matches to set up an exciting semi–final.
Team Vedic won against Texan Aces while Arun Jain were beaten by Mavericks. The remaining teams will continue to play the league with a fresh draw although they will carry over their scores from the Swiss League.
At the end of 8 rounds in the Tolani Masters, Mind Crusaders (Rajib Roy, Gourav Biswas, Shouvik Das and Arnab Basu Roy) were leading the field with a total of 92.22 victory points. In second place were Amanora (JK Bhosale, Dilip Gosavi, V Ravindran and V Ravichandran) with 116.43 victory points. The 16th place team, Mitravihar, qualified with a score of 84.04.
