Calangute: A 25-year-old tourist from Karnataka who was drunk when he entered the water on Candolim beach had to be rushed to the primary health centre (PHC). Lifeguards noticed he had difficulty breathing after being rescued from the sea over the weekend. Despite several warnings from lifeguards he entered the water and was soon struggling to stay afloat.
Similarly at Candolim beach, a group of 10 individuals were swimming in the water, when a 26-year-old man from Karnataka, who appeared to be struggling to stay afloat, was brought to the shore with a rescue tube.
A group of seven tourists from Maharashtra at Calangute beach were warned about entering the water by lifesavers. Four persons from the group, nevertheless, decided to venture into deeper water and soon a 24-year-old man got caught in a wave. Lifeguards rushed to save him from drowning.
At Baga beach, lifesavers traced and reunited a nine-year-old boy with the family after a 20-minute search.
