Jaipur: In a bid to digitise the civic body as soon as possible, the Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) has made it mandatory for a section of employees to attend offices even on Saturdays and Sundays to complete the works related to digitisation. The PHED secretary had issued on order on Feb 16 in this regard.
“Although the authority had started uploading all new files through online from February 8, the JDA officials are still carrying out the work of uploading the old manual files on the portal. This process is taking a lot of time and the authority wants the civic body to enter into a complete online mode by this financial year. Hence the new order had been directed,” said a JDA official.
JDA had earlier stated that it would start the e-filing exercises with the help of the department of information technology to bring transparency in government works and to increase the pace of moving files from one department to another.
JDA commissioner Manju Rajpal had issued an order where the old manual files had been categorised into four categories – A, B, C and D. Files in the A and B categories had been instructed to be uploaded by February 8. The files for C and D categories would have to be uploaded by the end of this financial year.
“It means that from now we have to carry out all our routine works through the Raj Kaaj portal. The portal had been in use for a few years, but it was not in use. We used to execute projects and other services through offline files and manual applications. The process of uploading the manual files is going on at a slow pace as officials are getting used to the system and the portal,” another JDA official explained.
