Haveri: Chief minister Siddaramaiah informed that a committee is conducting an inquiry regarding, “illegal revised estimation of four medical colleges that were propsed during the BJP govt”. We have revised the estimation on condition of grants that need to be released to contractors.
Reacting to the query about revised estimation by the Congress govt, even before inquiry committee submitted its report after inspecting works for the Haveri Institute of Medical Sciences (HIMS) here on Sunday, Siddaramaiah clarified that they will take an undertaking from contractors on the revised estimation, and will take a decision after the committee’s report is submitted.
“The HIMS building is almost completed, but work on hotels and residential quarters is in progress. We have revised the estimation in order for smooth functioning of academic activities. Work on construction of four govt medical college buildings in the state will be expedited,” Siddaramaiah added.
He stated that senior officials are inspecting the works. “We want all the college and hostel buildings to be completed on time. We will make payments to the contractors only after that. Work on Haveri college will be expedited,” he asserted.
