Patna: State Congress leaders on Monday protested near the Income Tax roundabout against freezing of party’s bank account by the Income Tax Department. Congress Legislative Party leader Shakeel Ahmad Khan said the move was undemocratic.
Party leaders raised slogans against BJP and central agencies. In a press statement, Bihar Congress president Akhilesh Prasad Singh lashed out at PM Narendra Modi led government.“Modi government wants to destroy democracy. They don’t want the opposition in the country, so that they could continue with their wrong deeds. However, Congress is not going to be afraid of ED, Income Tax and CBI. Congress was born out of protest and Modi government cannot suppress it,” stated Singh.
Amongst the leaders present at protest site were Kaukab Qadri, Kripanath Pathak, Pramod Kumar Singh, Manoj Kumar Singh, Nirmal Verma, Raj Kumar Rajan, Rajesh Rathorre, Alok Harsh, Anand Madhab, Shiv Prakash Gareeb Das, Sarwat Jahan Fatima, Vinod Sharma, Minnat Rahmani and several others.

Congress leaders, office bearers, workers gathered in Jaipur and marched towards Statue Circle. Protesters were stopped by Jaipur Police and sat on a dharna.
