Hyderabad: Director general of police (DGP) Ravi Gupta on Monday asked the security personnel to give top priority to traffic management during the Medaram jatara.
DGP Gupta held a review meeting with district police and other senior officials about the security arrangement being taken up. Intelligence chief B Shivadhar Reddy also participated in the meeting.
“DGP instructed the officials to ensure foolproof arrangements for the next four days of the festival. He said that traffic management is of prime importance in the conduct of the festival and directed the officials to deply adequate personnel and take necessary measures to ensure that the devotees do not face any inconvenience. He also asked the officials to create awareness among the lower-level staff,” the office of DGP said in a press note.
The two senior IPS officers held a meeting with nodal officers about the arrangements made for the tribal festival. Two crore devotees are expected to attend the jatara this year. Earlier, both officers offered prayers before the meeting.
