Chandigarh: Govt employees in Haryana, who have been on the warpath for revival of old pension scheme (OPS), on Monday gave the ruling BJP-JJP dispensation an ultimatum to implement the scheme by the last sitting of the upcoming budget session or face stir after Feb 28.
Vijender Dhaliwal, president of the Pension Bahali Sangharsh Samiti, said they were waiting for govt to deliver on its promise of implementing the OPS.“After Panchkula agitation, a high profile committee was constituted by Haryana govt with state employees as members, to find out ways to revive the OPS. But, except for one meeting on March 3 last year, no further meetings were called,” said Dhaliwal.
As no positive step has been taken in this direction so far, we will go as per the announcements made during the employees’ rally in Jind on Feb 11, where we had announced to take the fight to a logical end, he added. tnn
