Jharsuguda: Govt-aided Laxmi Narayan Degree College, Jharsuguda, has been granted permission by the higher education department to open PG courses from the 2024-25 academic session. There will be 16 seats in english, 24 each in Hindi and Odia, 16 seats in mathematics and 32 seats in M.Com.
The college has also been given permission to run self-financing courses.The college can hire retired faculty to take the classes and not allow any agency, offcial sources said.
“It will surely benefit the students of our district as now students have to go to either Sambalpur or Sundargarh for post graduate studies. Now the students of the district can easily pursue these courses in our college,” said principal Dr. Snehalata Mishra. Currently, the college is offering Plus II and Plus III courses in arts, science and commerce stream and has around 1500 students, official sources said. tnn
