Kanpur: A sub-inspector, posted at the police headquarters, who tore pages from the service books of three constables for promotion, has been dismissed from the police services.
ACP (Headquarters) Vipin Kumar Mishra issued orders for dismissal of the clerk found guilty after investigation. During investigation, it came to fore that SI Devendra Maurya, a clerk posted in the confidential department, had torn page number 77 of the service book (character register) of the three police personnel, which contained data of service records, including bad entries. When the names of the three tainted constables were included in the promotion list, an investigation was ordered and then the whole truth came to fore. Subsequently, all the three constables were suspended, and the S-I was dismissed on the recommendation of senior officials.
On Saturday, when the file reached the ACP, he issued dismissal orders of the SI. Additional CP said, the promotion list of constable and head constable was to be released in the year 2023. “The names of constable Pratima Rajput, constable Ashwani Batham and constable Yugraj posted as munshi in the dispatch department, were also included in this list.
