Mumbai: An 18-year-old who accompanied his father, a carpenter, as an apprentice at an under-construction building in Matunga died after falling from seventh floor, on Sunday. Police have booked the contractor for causing death due to negligence on the grounds that he did not provide any safety gears.
The deceased, Imran Ali, was son of Saidur Mohammed Rahman, a native of West Bengal who stays on rent in Wadala. Saidur said his son was not pursuing studies and hence he had decided to train him. “Saidur asked his son to get some clips from the 7th floor. After some time, he heard a thud and rushed to see Imran had fallen off the 7th floor,” said a police officer. tnn
