AU starts Pre-PhD course for research scholars | Allahabad University | Allahabad News – Times of India

Prayagraj: Moving towards the full implementation of New Education Policy 2020, Allahabad University has started a common Pre PhD course work for all research scholars of science faculty 2021-22 batch. The course work started on Feb 19.
As per the mandate of University Grants Commission (UGC), all research scholars are required to complete a one semester Pre-PhD course which includes research methodology, computer applications and statistics, and research training and ethics.
Earlier the responsibility of conducting Pre PhD course was upon respective departments. The Pre PhD course batch includes students from biochemistry, botany, zoology, physics, electronics and communication, statistics, mathematics, family and community science, chemistry, material science, biotechnology and bioinformatics.
Speaking to TOI, the coordinator of the course Prof S I Rizvi, dean research and development, said: “This course has been designed keeping in view the requirements of all PhD scholars and it will give an opportunity for students from different science subjects to learn the basics of other science disciplines.” TNN
