Jaipur: A 22-year-old BEd student lost his life in an accident involving a tractor-trolley in the Mathura Gate police station area of Bharatpur on Tuesday morning. The incident was captured on CCTV.
The incident occurred around 8:30am when two tractor-trolley drivers delivering sand to a nearby construction site allegedly damaged a water pipe leading to deceased Upendra’s family home.Following a heated argument, the drivers attempted to leave in a hurry, with Upendra trying to intervene. Tragically, he was run over by one of the tractor-trolleys, succumbing to his injuries at RBM Hospital. The CCTV footage of the incident shows Upendra falling as the tractor-trolley’s rear wheels roll over him. The driver then fled the scene with the vehicle. Police have since confiscated the tractor and are actively searching for the absconding driver, whose mobile location traces him to Dholpur.
Locals claim the drivers were transporting illegally extracted sand from the Chambal River. Neighbor Lokesh Singh stated, “We chased the tractor after the incident, but the driver recklessly rammed into parked carts and even a house before abandoning the vehicle and escaping.”
Mathura Gate police station SI Virendra Singh confirmed the incident and the ongoing investigation. “Two teams have been dispatched to apprehend the accused driver,” he informed.
