The LG said that as per the Supreme Court orders, Delhi Police had formed committees to destroy the drugs seized from the smugglers. He added that a list of drugs seized in the cases from 2009 to 2023 was prepared for which the court had granted the permission to destroy them.
“Last year, 1,325 cases were registered in Delhi in which 1,736 drug dealers were arrested. Assets worth about Rs 2 crore have been seized while the investigation involving assets worth Rs 3 crore is going on,” Saxena said. “To crack down on drugs, various operations and campaigns are being run by the districts and units of Delhi Police,” he added.
