Berhampur: A 40-year-old man, who accidentally shot at his wife from his country-made gun at Bedigoba village in Ganjam district on Sunday, was arrested on Monday night.
A single barrel muzzle-loading country-made gun was seized from accused Jagura Sahu, Ganjam SP Jagmohan Meena said on Tuesday.
Jagura’s wife, Sapna Sahu (35), is undergoing treatment at MKCG Medical College and Hospital here and her condition is stated to be out of danger, police said.Jagura was arrested based on the FIR lodged by his mother-in-law Sadhumati Nayak, the police said.
Initially, Sadhumati claimed her daughter sustained bullet injury due to firing by some wildlife poachers on Friday evening.
