PATNA: Former CM Rabri Devi on Tuesday took a dig at Nitish Kumar for his “habit” of changing sides at frequent intervals.
“We never told him to join our alliance. He joined and left the alliance on his own without intimating us,” Rabri told mediapersons.
“Apne hath jodte hain, pair padte hain ki galti ho gaya. Abhi bhi apne se gaye hain. Hamlogon ko jankari bhi nahin hua koi parivar ko (Each time he joined us, he offered excuses saying he committed mistakes. This time too, he left us on his own. We were not aware of it),” Rabri said.
Nitish, who formed the Grand Alliance govt with the support of RJD, Congress and Left in August 2022, walked out of the alliance last month to return to the NDA fold.
Replying to a query, Rabri said they were not bothered by the inquiry ordered by the state govt into the functioning of the departments led by Tejashwi Prasad Yadav and the then two RJD ministers in the previous Grand Alliance govt.
“We have been facing such inquiries for the past 25 years, but nothing new came out. They have been repeating the old issues of fodder, land-for-jobs and land scams. Kahan zamin hai? Zamin to dikhao na (Where is the piece of land? Show us the land),” she said.
Rabri sought to know whether former railway ministers Nitish Kumar and late Ram Vilas Paswan should also be blamed for any appointment in railways during their tenure. “They are playing politics only with us. However, we have the support of the people of Bihar,” she said.
