Kolkata: Four passengers and a driver of an Ultadanga-bound autorickshaw from Karunamoyee were injured after the front wheel of the three-wheeler somehow came off near PNB crossing in Salt Lake and turned sideways.
All the injured were first taken to the Salt Lake Sub-Divisional Hospital near Salt Lake’s City Centre, from where Anish Rahman (38)—who was severely injured—was referred to the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital.Others were discharged from the hospital later.
“The auto was moving at a decent speed when the front wheel came off. We helped the passengers as well as the driver come out of the vehicle and sent them to the hospital,” a police officer said. Cops have seized the vehicle to conduct a mechanical test on it.
